the heavy threat of Aleksander Ceferin in the event of a ban on opposing fans

on

Aleksander Ceferin likes to see opposing supporters present away in European cups. At 24 hours from the knockout round of the Champions League between Naples and Frankfurt, without German supporters, the UEFA president expressed his dissatisfaction. It is, according to him, a “intolerable situation”, referring to the decision of the prefecture of Naples on March 8 to ban the sale of tickets to people living in Germany, citing fears of public order disturbances. After protest from Eintracht, and cancellation by the Italian courts of this decision, a second prefectural initiative reduced this ban to the inhabitants of Frankfurt.

What irritate Ceferin who threatens to relocate future matches, elsewhere than at the clubs which will receive. “If something like this were to happen, then the clubs will not play in the cities that are causing the sanctions” he begins, considering that it was intolerable to see “that the Italian authorities simply decide to ban the fans.” He affirms in passing that UEFA has “attached to the legal action brought by Eintracht Frankfurt”. This is a strong message that should make you think about future European receptions.
