Supercell’s Squad Busters – Game Announcement, Closed Beta and More

Been a fan of Supercell games like Clash of Clans and Hay Day? You will love the newest title by the Finnish developer on the block then. The company has pulled the curtains on Squad Busters, a squad-building action game which combines characters from across the Supercell universe.

While little has been revealed about the game yet, Supercell has confirmed two things: it will be a squad-building game and have characters from across the franchise.

So far, Supercell has released a short trailer of the game on social media which shows characters from Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars PC, Hay Day Pop, and Boom Beach banding together to take on an enemy.

It’s unclear how the game will exactly play out. However, fans won’t have to wait long as the dev has confirmed that the closed beta is beginning on Feb. 6. This closed beta will only be open to players in Canada and will happen until Feb. 16. You can apply to participate in the closed beta on the official website of the new Supercell game.

This is the first time that characters from across Supercell games have banded together. In the past, the company has developed a Clash universe led by Clash Royale ranks and Clash of Clans.

It later announced three new games with the same characters, namely Clash Quest, Clash Mini, and Clash Heroes. While Clash Quest has been canceled for meeting Supercell’s high standards, Clash Heroes is still under development.

Clash Mini is undergoing regional release in Europe. A global release date for the title hasn’t been revealed yet.

When will Squad Busters release globally?

For fans of the Supercell franchise who want to get their hands on the newest title as soon as possible, there is some bad news. The developer is known to take its time to make games, test them in limited release, and then make the game available globally.

Currently, the game has only been announced and will soon undergo a closed beta test. If past games are taken as an example, Supercell will likely do a few other tests like this in the future before a limited regional launch for the game.

This regional launch period can go on for a long time, and Brawl Stars is an example of that. The global release of the game happened 1.5 years after its beta release.

Even then, the possibility of the game becoming available is not confirmed. Supercell is notorious for killing off titles which don’t meet its high standards. Some games that it has killed off include Rush Wars, Hay Day Pop, Clash Quest, and most recently Everdale.
