Roger Federer is thrilled to welcome “world-class talent” Iga Swiatek and Ben Shelton to On Running.

On Monday, world No 1 Swiatek became the first female tennis player to join On Running – a Swiss-based sportswear company backed by Federer.

Since 2019, Federer has been investing in On Running.

“Iga and Ben represent the next generation of world-class talent. Both players demonstrate On’s competitive spirit and embody current and future champions of the sport. We are pleased to welcome them to the On family,” Federer said in a statement.

Federer welcomes Swiatek, Shelton to On Running

Swiatek has established herself as the best player in the women’s game, while 20-year-old Shelton is one of the most promising players in the men’s game.

At the Miami Open, Swiatek and Shelton will debut in On Running apparel.

“I’m very excited to be the first female player to join with On, and truly thrilled how On’s Lightning innovation team works and adapts technologies to meet the demands of athletes, supporting their careers. It has been very inspirational for me to develop my ideas and needs with them, working on my current and future gear,” Swiatek said.

In Miami, Swiatek will try to defend her title and kick off her partnership with On Running on the best possible note.

Last week, Swiatek reached the Indian Wells semifinal before losing to Elena Rybakina.

After losing to Rybakina, Swiatek revealed that she was hampered by a rib injury.

But when asked about her participation in Miami, Swiatek hinted that wasn’t in doubt.

“No, like for now I’m preparing to play, but we’ll see what next days are going to tell us. I don’t know yet,” Swiatek said.

Last year, Swiatek captured her first Miami title after beating Naomi Osaka in the final.

This year, Swiatek is again among the top favorites to repeat as Miami champion.
