Veteran personnel executive reportedly headed to Detroit

As is often the case post-draft when there is a regime shift, change has reportedly occurred within the Las Vegas Raiders’ front office.

NFL insider Neil Stratton reported that Dwayne Joseph is headed to the Detroit Lions in an unspecified role.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal confirmed that Joseph has already departed the Raiders’ organization and he is headed to the Lions for an unknown role. It doesn’t appear that Joseph is getting a major promotion with the Detroit. but if that is the case, the Raiders would receive a 2025 third-round pick for diversity hires.

Joseph, a veteran NFL front-office member, came to the Raiders in 2019 under then-general manager Mike Mayock as the team’s director of pro personnel.

Some change was expected after the Raiders hired Tom Telesco as the team’s general manager in January. He brought in JoJo Wooden as Senior Director of Player Personnel in February.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if there is more change within the Raiders scouting structure. Last week, assistant general manager Champ Kelly — was a runner-up to Telesco for the job — met with media members and sounded happy to stay in Las Vegas. So, for now, it seems like he is staying with the team.
