The decision was expected, it is now official. The Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters announced in a press release published on Monday that Paris Saint-Germain supporters will not be able to travel to Marseille to attend the match between their team and Olympique de Marseille at Stade Vélodrome this Wednesday, counting for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France.
Indeed, a ministerial decree has even been put in place. The latter prohibits anyone who considers himself a supporter of PSG to travel, individually or collectively, from the Paris region to Marseille, as indicated in the press release from the police headquarters. All this with the aim of avoiding any disturbance to public order, the supporters having “resulted in the past and on a recurring basis in serious disturbances to public order.”
