For several weeks, the future of Lionel Messi has occupied a good part of the media space. For now, it’s unclear where the Argentine will continue his career, as Saudi Arabia and FC Barcelona are the two destinations ready to host La Pulga. One thing is certain, however: Messi will not wear the colors of PSG at the start of the 2023-2024 season.
The reigning world champion will therefore play his last match alongside Kylian Mbappé, this Saturday, against Clermont at home. Two days ago, Christophe Galtier had also asked Parisian supporters to give him a welcome worthy of the name: “It will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, I dare to hope that he will be welcomed in the best possible way. This year it has been an important element, always available. The remarks or criticisms, I do not find them at all justified.”

In an interview given to ESPNthe Sevenfold Ballon d’Or said: “I am happy to have been able to wear the colors of Paris Saint-Germain. I really appreciated the fact that I was able to play in this team with such good players. I want to thank the club for this wonderful experience in Paris.”

The results are more than mixed for Lionel Messi. If the Argentinian obviously has impressive statistics (74 games for 32 goals and 34 assists in all competitions), he will not have allowed PSG to seek a crown in the Champions League. With him, the Ile-de-France club even lost twice in the round of 16 of the competition. Messi should choose his new team, at the latest, by the end of June.
