Nick Kyrgios wants to become Holger Rune’s coach! The funny post

on

Nick Kyrgios has never hidden the love he feels towards the Australian Open and, after the results achieved last year, he could certainly have worried the best players on the Tour. Kyrgios played his first Slam final at Wimbledon, in 2022, and only surrendered to Novak Djokovic, in four sets.

Hypothesizing a future as a coach in the world of tennis, the player born in 1996 has indicated the athlete he would like to guide on the Tour.

“Are you going to train and help someone? I’d like to. The only person I would like to help is Holger Rune,” Kyrgios replied to a fan in a humorous Instagram post.

Rune immediately reposted the Instagram story to his personal profile. Holger stopped in the round of 16 in Melbourne and lost an incredible match against Andrey Rublev. The 19-year-old squandered a break lead and two match points in the fifth set before surrendering in the super tie-break. The point that he wrote the final word at the meeting saw Rublev find a tape as fortunate as it is mocking. The Russian was then eliminated by Djokovic in the quarterfinals in a match which saw the Serbian dominate from the first to the last exchange.

Kyrgios’ surgery: the latests

“I am devastated. Here last year I won the doubles tournament, here I played the best tennis of my life, now I can only do my best to get back on the court. Right now I feel a mix of mixed emotions. After the last Grand Slam I played, the US Open last year, I had been very hard on myself.

This injury doesn’t allow me to move well, the only way to solve the problem is an operation”. Nick Kyrgios was forced to miss the Australian Open due to a lateral meniscus tear. The Australian player had surgery a week ago and updated fans through his Instagram account.

“Surgery complete. I will do my best to get back to the best. I love you”.”
