Manchester United legend Paul Scholes gave his feelings on the future summer transfer window of the Mancunian club, more precisely on an offensive target considered privileged by the management of the Red Devils. Wishing to secure the services of a leading number 9, Man Utd is thinking in particular of Harry Kane, the English striker from Tottenham.

As explained by us, the Old Trafford-based club could pay a substantial sum to secure the services of the 29-year-old goleador, under contract until June 2024 with Spurs. Manchester United are reportedly ready to drop around €90m for the Londoner, who is also being courted by Real Madrid as part of Karim Benzema’s succession.

“He is very happy at Tottenham”

Asked by BT SportsPaul Scholes explains why Mancunians do not necessarily have to turn to the former member of Leicester City. “I think the number of goals scored is a problem, United are far behind City and Arsenal. I think Harry is very happy where he is. If he was to move, it should have been to Man City a few years ago. It would be fantastic. It would be the guarantee to score 25 goals, but it is very difficult for him to leave at 30. It’s also a risk for Man United, if you put all your eggs in one basket with Kane and suddenly Daniel Levy puts a spoke in your wheels, you take the risk of having no one. If you have him, great, but I just think he’s very happy at Tottenham doing what he’s doing.

With the Tottenham shirt, the top scorer in the history of the Three Lions has scored 272 goals in 426 games in all competitions, including 24 goals in 40 games since the start of the 2022-2023 season.
