Lorient catches Nice, Montpellier goes on, Troyes and Brest get bogged down!

on

After the victory of AS Monaco on the lawn of AC Ajaccio and while waiting for the poster opposing PSG to Rennes, the 28th day of Ligue 1 continued, this Sunday, with the traditional multiplex and four posters scheduled at 15 hours. At the Allianz Riviera, OGC Nice, seventh at kick-off, hosted FC Lorient, ninth. Without Terem Moffi, absent after an agreement reached between the two teams at the time of the transfer from the Super Eagle, the Aiglons were organized in 3-4-3 with Pépé and Laborde at the forefront. Opposite, the Hakes, aligned in 4-5-1, hoped to chain a third meeting without defeat to stay in the race for Europe.

The Eagles hooked!

In front of their public, the Niçois started this game timidly and neither team managed to make the difference. We finally had to wait half an hour to see a nice breakthrough from Faivre on the left side of the surface. From a precise center back, the former Lyonnais found Meïté who concluded (0-1, 30th). Led at the break, Didier Digard’s men tried to come back to score after the break but the Merlus did not tremble. If Thuram thought of offering a penalty to his team (64th), the VAR decided otherwise. In the last moments of this duel for Europe, the Gym ended up, despite everything, falling behind. Taking advantage of a deviation from Pépé, Laborde deceived Mannone (1-1, 77th). A zero result that does not suit anyone. In the standings, Nice remains stuck in seventh place and could be left behind by Rennes, which moves to the PSG lawn at 5:05 p.m. Lorient is hot on the heels of the Aiglons in eighth position.

In the other games of the afternoon, Racing Club de Strasbourg, fifteenth and strong from its draw (2-2) snatched last weekend against OM, wanted to continue with a new positive result to move away of the red zone. Facing the Alsatians, AJ Auxerre, seventeenth, also had to bring back points from La Meinau. A match at the bottom of the table which quickly turned to the advantage of the RCSA on a nice strike from Nyamsi (1-0, 5th). A few minutes later, Diallo, jostled in the area by Touré, obtained a penalty but stumbled on Radu (19th). In front at the break, the Strasbourgeois maintained their short advantage after returning from the locker room. In the last moments, Diallo even completed the success of his own with a half-volley with his left foot (2-0, 87th). Still 15th, the RCSA is still moving away from the main competitors for maintenance.

Montpellier no longer knows how to lose, Troyes and Brest are slowing down!

Undefeated in its last five outings in L1 (4 wins, 1 draw), Montpellier received, for its part, Clermont, twelfth. Overall dominating during the first 45 minutes, like this post from Mavidi, the Héraultais were nevertheless led at the break on an opportunistic achievement by Khaoui (0-1, 32nd). On returning from the locker room, the Montpellier pressure climbed a notch and Wahi finally found the equalizer on a deflection (1-1, 61st). The number 21 of the MHSC even doubled the bet a few moments later on a pretty little low pass from Sacko (2-1, 73rd). In control at the end of the match, despite the expulsion of Ferri, the men of Michel Der Zakarian offered themselves a new victory and are now in eleventh place in L1. Clermont remains 13th.

Finally, Brest, sixteenth, moved on the lawn of Troyes, orphan of the slightest victory since last January 2 and penultimate with 20 small points. At the Stade de l’Aube, the Brestois found the fault half an hour into the game on a long shot from Lees-Melou (0-1, 30th). Stunned, the Aubists, much more enterprising, did not lower their heads and reacted quickly. If Ripart allowed his people to equalize (1-1, 34th), Lopes rolled up perfectly from the left to deceive Bizot (2-1, 38th) and give the advantage to ESTAC. Much sharper in the second half, Brest logically ended up falling behind, from the penalty spot, thanks to Del Castillo (2-2, 74th). With this point from the draw, Troyes stagnates in a worrying 18th place. Brest is 16th.
