Lima Major 2023 confirmed teams and several tiebreakers underway

on

The Lima Major 2023 creeps closer, as tiebreakers unfold at the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (DPC 2023).  We already have twelve out of eighteen teams confirmed for the first major of DPC 2023.

Lima Major 2023 Teams

Eastern Europe is among the first regions to have its complete stack of representatives, featuring BetBoom Team, Team Spirit, and HellRaisers. It’s always great to see the former remnant of Team Spirit, Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek in a lively form with BetBoom in the first place. Beating Team Spirit alongside every other team in EEU.

While Spirit and BetBoom were confident picks to qualify for Lima Major, HellRaisers’ qualification came as a pleasant surprise. For one, they emerged from Division 2 and managed to rival most opponents except for the mentioned two.

Over in the Americas, beastcoast and Evil Geniuses are unrivaled in their conquest to qualify for Lima Major via South America. Whereas from North America, while less popular after the region’s poor showcase at the International 11 (TI11), still has its champions. TeamSoloMid is a staple name in this part while Shopify Rebellion rocks the former EG roster, which in retrospect, are still high-profile players.

Meanwhile, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, and China still have vacant slots to be decided by tiebreakers today. Beforehand, the confirmed teams from these regions include Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Aster, Execration, and Geek Slate.

For the most part, we anticipated the powerhouses, Liquid, Gaimin, and Team Aster to qualify for Lima Major, but their overwhelming performance was a pleasant surprise. Then, there are Execration and Geek Slate, which toppled the SEA staples, BOOM, and Fnatic.

Three-way tie in WEU between OG, Tundra and Entity

It’s the wild Wild West at WEU DPC 2023, especially with a three-way tiebreaker. Featuring Entity, Team OG, and Tundra Esports, this is surely a decisive tiebreaker for the final two qualifier slots.

DPC 2023 WEU DIvision 1 three-way tiebreaker

Tundra, the TI11 Champs’ reputation is at stake if they miss out on their first DPC Major since winning TI. Despite Tundra’s bigger reputation, all three candidates have had one win against each other, and vice versa.

Although OG often received heavy backlash for their questionable performance, especially Mikhail “Misha” Agatov. Additionally, OG and Entity looked stale with their overused tactics of picking Treant Protector and Lina.

Talon Esports vs Blacklist International at SEA Division 1

The SEA DPC 2023 has its own tiebreaker for third place between Blacklist International and Talon Esports. Both teams have been fundamental players in guiding SEA as a recognized rival, Talon being a newcomer since last season. Meanwhile, Blacklist with its nostalgic roster of Filipino all-stars have also been phenomenal at DPC 2023.

For the record, Blacklist defeated Talon once already, which is an understatement considering Talon’s records. As such, it would be fantastic if Blacklist puts the nail on the coffin by beating them in the tiebreaker. After all, Blacklist has a great roster of closed players, which can play along with Carlo “Kuku” Palad’s notorious drafts.

While China still has another match week, we should have a good idea on the competition at Lima Major 2023. Frankly, the competition loos terrifying from a bird eye’s view when we have many key players representing new teams and namesakes.
