Liam Broady: Roger Federer has to be top-5 on all time best ATP servers list

on

British tennis player Liam Broady says Roger Federer “has to be” on the top-5 list of the best servers in ATP history.

Patrick Mouratoglou, who famously worked with the great Serena Williams for a decade, recently revealed his top-5 serves of all time in the men’s game.

Mouratoglou named Nick Kyrgios as the best server in ATP history and then mentioned John Isner, Andy Roddick, Ivo Karlovic and Pete Sampras.

“5: Pete had the most unpredictable and unreadable serve both on first and second. 4: Thanks to his height (Ivo Karlovic), he made a great career mostly based on his serve. 3: Andy had the most violent way to hit a serve in the tennis history. 2: He (Isner) played the longest match in tennis history and he wasn’t broken for eight hours in a row. 1: Kyrgios is number one because players return much better today and he’s undoubtedly the current best,” Mouratoglou said in a video uploaded on his Instagram.

Also, Broady mentioned that Novak Djokovic’s serve is “the most underrated of all time.”

“Federer has to be on this list. Has to be. Most beautifully underrated serve. Djokovic most underrated server of all time though,” Broady tweeted.

In last year’s Wimbledon final, Kyrgios clashed against Djokovic.

Throughout the entire final, Kyrgios was serving extremely well and sending absolute bombs toward Djokovic’s way.

But Djokovic – who is by many considered the greatest returner in tennis history – found a way to neutralize Kyrgios’ stunning serve.

Throughout the final, Kyrgios was seen getting annoyed by Djokovic’s ability to read his big serve and return it.

In the end, Djokovic recovered from a set down to beat Kyrgios in four sets.

After the final, many praised Kyrgios’ performance.

Also, there was a good number of people who believed Kyrgios would have won the final if he played anyone other than Djokovic.
