John Textor opens up about his relationship with Jean-Michel Aulas

New owner of Olympique Lyonnais, John Textor nevertheless took several months to buy the Rhone club. The 13 banks had to be accepted in this project. During this period and as OL is a listed company, we had to remain silent. It was serious, we couldn’t talk and all kinds of stories were coming out. Negotiating, on the other hand, has never been difficult.”

“The complexity of the banks allowed me to establish a good relationship with Jean-Michel, because we were able to solve problems together that we had not anticipated” he continued. A relationship that goes beyond the purely professional status: “Jean-Michel and I knocked down the walls one by one. In conclusion, we are like friends now. The operation allowed me to get closer to Jean-Michel as a partner and friend. Without that, I wouldn’t have been able to know him so well.” The beginning of a great collaboration?
