If you’re not too young, you probably remember Federico Macheda. In his first two appearances for Manchester United in 2009, the then 17-year-old Italian striker scored each time, becoming a real attraction at Old Trafford. This would be a flash in the pan because, subsequently, the player will have multiplied unsuccessful experiences, especially on loan.
Leaving the Red Devils for Cardiff for good in 2014, the centre-forward also played for Novara Calcio and Panathinaikos, where he enjoyed his most successful period. He left Greece in the summer of 2022 for Ankaragücü but after 14 matches in all competitions (1 goal) in Turkey, the 31-year-old has just been loaned to APOEL Nicosia where he will end the season.
