Bleues, the choice of PSG for the post-Deacon

on

After putting Corinne Deacon out of her position as coach, the French Football Federation is looking for a successor. PSG is directly concerned.

Last Thursday, the ax fell for Corinne Deacon. Targeted by the sling of some tricolor players, the coach of the France team was dismissed by the French Football Federation. The body which gave in to the demands of the putschists must therefore hurry to find a solution, especially since the 2023 World Cup is coming (very) fast. Several names have been mentioned to succeed Deacon, including that of the Paris Saint-Germain coach.

Currently in office, Gérard Prêcheur is part of the short list concocted by the FFF. According to information from Parisian unveiled on Tuesday, the tactician would be thrilled with the idea. As for Paris Saint-Germain, he would be ready to open discussions with the Federation if the latter wished to offer the services of Prêcheur.

Two men and two women

A former member of the national technical management and the National Football Institute, the sixty-three-year-old man is not the only candidate, however. Two women and a man also have a profile that interests the FFF working group, in charge of the file. First of all, there is Sonia Haziraj who served as coach of U19 tricolors.

Sonia Bompastor, currently on the bench of Olympique Lyonnais is also an option. Finally, the former assistant of Corinne Deacon, Eric Blahic is a candidate considered. The final decision is expected soon since Les Bleues are coming together next April with two friendly matches to be played respectively against Colombia (7th) and Canada (11th). Two other friendly matches are then scheduled for the month of July, before Les Bleues’ first match at the World Cup. It will be July 23 against Jamaica. It remains to be seen who will be on the bench to lead them.
