Billionaire Bill Gates attended the Australian Open 2023, enjoying the semifinals of the men’s singles and women’s singles. The Microsoft founder had incredible, and incredibly expensive, seats at his disposal to better enjoy the plays of Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka

The billionaire is expected to be present all weekend, to also watch the men’s and women’s finals of the Slam Down Under.

How much do the seats that Bill Gates secured to watch the Australian Open cost? As reported by sportingnews.com, several types of tickets are available to watch matches at Melbourne Park, including ground passes and reserved seating.

Bill Gates stands in an exclusive court area inside Rod Laver Arena that is priced, for the upcoming men’s final, at $27,500. Ticket costs can vary and prices typically increase for tournament matches in the later stages. Visit Ticketmaster for updated and detailed pricing.

As reported also by sportingnews.com, Gates is in Australia with representatives from his company Breakthrough Energy, to meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Breakthrough Energy is a company focused on developing sustainable energy and technology innovations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Djokovic’s words

Novak, just before the 2023 Australian Open final, said: “I’m really satisfied and happy to be in another Grand Slam final. It’s exactly what I hoped would happen when I arrived in Australia: to be in a position to fight for another title Slam.

I think experience helps, also the fact that I have never lost a final here gives me further confidence ahead of Sunday. But, of course, you have to finish the fieldwork. I will play against Tsitsipas who is in great shape and playing the best tennis of him.

I’m sure he will be very motivated. I know his game quite well, he knows mine too. I know what awaits me. Luckily for me at this stage of my career, thanks to all the achievements in the past, in every match or every tournament there is always something at stake, especially when playing Grand Slam tournaments.

I am privileged to be in this position and I wish myself the best. Getting to the final stages of a Grand Slam at this point in my career is a golden opportunity. I don’t know how many other opportunities I will have.

Of course I feel the pressure, like any other tennis player. Today I was 5-1 up in the first set, then things changed quickly. I was also struggling physically and mentally. In these games you can expect to have some seizures, they better be less!”
