Benoit Paire: “I spent two shitty years”

on

Benoit Paire has sunk in the ATP ranking and failed to obtain the desired results during 2022, or at least discreet ones to remain in a higher ranking position. Lack of motivation and an increasingly declining performance on the tennis court. These two main aspects led Paire to sink.

The French tennis player is currently at number 180 in the world rankings in the men’s Tour due to the matches he played during the entire 2022 season. A situation that leads the Frenchman to be unable to participate in the most prestigious events of the year, without going qualifiers.

Recently the player has come out into the open and has let off steam drawing a balance of his year, far from exciting.

Benoit Paire and his harsh confession: “I spent two shitty years”

Paire said in an Instagram post: “I spent two shi*ty years touring, two seasons where I lost my passion for the sport. When motivation fails, it’s impossible to win games. At the moment I have an injury that prevents me from preparing in the best way for the new season but I hope to be 100% at the beginning of 2023.

My motivation will be to find fun again on the pitch: I know that if there is desire on the pitch, I will return to having the right ranking. Of course, I am aware that my current position in the ranking is very bad and it makes me very sad not to be able to start the season in the tournaments I would like.

But in the end it’s what I deserve! I want to get back to my level as soon as possible. Thanks again for all your support. I am happy to report that I have also found a new coach.”
