AS Roma: surprising destination for an undesirable Mourinho?

Due to a spat with José Mourinho, an AS Roma player could pack up in the next few hours.

The Portuguese coach of the Roman club is not unanimous among the club’s followers. This is particularly the case of Antonio Cassano. According to the former Italian striker of AS Roma (2001-2006), José Mourinho is a coach seen more handsome than he is: “(José) Mourinho has never been a very great coach, he has always been a very good communicator. I think he was one of the first to communicate well, to play with the media and to manage strong players well. In Rome, it is disaster upon disaster. He spent a lot of money on some players… (Nemanja) Matic and Rui Patricio, he was the one who brought them in.” The 34-year-old Serb has played a lot this season (28 games, 1 goal, 2 assists), as has the Portuguese goalkeeper (28 games played).

Antonio Cassano also complains about the way Special One manages its players: “Roma have not played football for a year and a half. His management of (Rick) Karsdorp has been disastrous. He is in agony because of him, he destroyed him and he insulted him in front of everyone. Now he’s going to be reinstated, and he has no market value because of this bullshit. In his case as in that of (Nicolo) Zaniolo, Mourinho acts underhandedly.

Zaniolo in Turkey?

In the case of the last city, a departure takes shape. Indeed, according to the latest revelations from Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray has started discussions with AS Roma for Nicolo Zaniolo. Initially, the Turkish formation wanted a loan from the Italian, but the 3rd in Serie A only wants a dry transfer.

Cited with insistence on the side of AC Milan, Nicolo Zaniolo did not finally join the Lombard club this winter. And would not be against the challenge offered by Galatasaray, when his future at AS Roma seems completely blocked and the transfer market in Turkey does not close until February 7.
