An Arsenal and Chelsea target calls for his departure

on

There are still a few days left before the transfer market closes. English clubs, very active, will still experience movements. This should be particularly the case for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal

In bad shape in the Premier League, with a 10th place that does not correspond to the standing of the club, winner of the Champions League in 2021, Chelsea is the attraction of this winter transfer window. The Blues are upsetting their workforce, with many recruits and a few departures. The English club notably reached an agreement with OL for Malo Gusto, after having recruited for 100M euros bonus including the Ukrainian Mykhaylo Mudryk or having obtained the loan of the Portuguese João Felix.

On the side of Arsenal, leader of the PL, the transfer window is less agitated despite several recruits, but the Gunners are nevertheless looking to strengthen themselves, whether in the attacking positions (Moussa Diaby) or in the middle (Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo) .

Caicedo wants to leave Brighton

Having probably caught wind of Arsenal’s huge offer for his services, and pressing interest from Chelsea, Moises Caicedo took to Twitter. And the 21-year-old midfielder was clear about his will for January 2023: “I am grateful to Mr Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel like I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with my heart. (…) My dream is always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. I am proud to be able to bring a record transfer fee to Brighton which will allow them to reinvest and help the club continue their success story. The fans have taken me to their hearts and they will always be in my heart, so I hope they can understand why I want to take this wonderful opportunity.

Brighton is however in a strong position in the case: Moises Caicedo has a contract until 2025. The Ecuadorian could therefore stay with the 6th in the English championship, who is not forced to sell him.
