Jonsson Workwear Open, results

The 34-year-old finished the round in 65 shots, bringing his score to -17 and moving up 9 spots. The only flaw on the card was his bogey at the PAR 4 of the 17th hole which prevented him from entering the final day of the tournament with two strokes ahead of his pursuers.

There are four players in second position with a score of -16: it is the aforementioned Bachem, less brilliant than the first two days but still very solid on the green; the Swede Joakim Lagergren, author of the best lap of the weekend with nine birdies and 63 total shots; the landlord Hennie du Plessis, again bogey-free (last shot lost on the 8th hole of the first round) and the Malaysian Gavin Green, who is making constancy his best weapon.

Even the three players who brought their score to -15 and who therefore occupy the sixth provisional place are still at altitude and with intact possibilities of seeking success. These are the Frenchman Romain Langasque, the South African Martin Vorster and the Scotsman Ewen Ferguson.

Johannesburg (in Afrikaans and English) or eGoli (in Zulu and Xhosa), is a city in north-eastern South Africa, capital of the province of Gauteng. It is the most populous city in South Africa and the third most populous in sub-Saharan Africa after Lagos (Nigeria) and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo). It is also informally referred to as Joburg, Jozi and The City of Gold; the latter from the Zulu name eGoli, which means “place of gold”, may refer to the mining activity in the area or to the economic wealth of the city. Johannesburg is not the capital of South Africa; there are three state capitals: Pretoria (administrative), Cape Town (legislative) and Bloemfontein (judicial).
