AEW RAMPAGE RESULTS (11/26/2021)

The regular signature intro airs and then we shoot inside the Wintrust Arena in Chicago where pyro and fireworks erupt as Excalibur welcomes us to the show.

Adam Cole & Bobby Fish vs. Orange Cassidy & Wheeler Yuta

He says he hopes we had a good Thanksgiving yesterday and tells us we’re getting right down to action. On that note, we hear the familiar sounds of the popular theme song of Adam Cole, who makes his way out with Bobby Fish.

The two head down to the ring as Chris Jericho, Taz and Ricky Starks join Excalibur on commentary to set the stage for our opening contest, which features a big tag-team bout. Cole and Fish settle in the ring and their music dies down.

Now the equally popular theme for Orange Cassidy plays and out he comes with his tag-team partner Wheeler Yuta and some of the other members of the Best Friends group. They hang back as Cassidy and Yuta head to the ring for our first match of the show this evening.

The bell sounds and it will be Fish and Yuta kicking things off for their respective teams. The action hits the mat briefly straight out of the gate and then Fish goes to work on Yuta with kicks and punches in the corner. He adds to that with some more offense but then eats a dropkick from Yuta.

Yuta tags in Cassidy after that and the two hit some double-team offense, with Cassidy taking it easy as always. Still wearing his shades, Cassidy watches on as Fish tags in Adam Cole. He takes the shades off and raises his hands to place them in his pockets. Cole stops them before his hands go down and then leads the fans in an “Adam Cole – Bay-Bay!” chant.

Cassidy goes to do his raised hands in the pockets gimmick again but again Cole stops him. This time Cassidy flips Cole down to the mat. Cassidy goes to do a 360 raised hands in the pocket deal but Cole gets a back body lock before he can. With Cole holding on, Cassidy keeps trying but Cole keeps stopping him. Finally Cassidy takes him down and then shows him the thumbs up gesture.

When they get back to their feet, Cassidy does the wax-on, wax-off into the raised hands in the pocket deal, but ..well, yeah, you guessed it — he was stopped again before he could do so. After some double team action we see Cassidy hit the ring apron and lead the fans in a big cheer as Yuta takes over on Cole in the ring.

Cole ends up slowing Yuta down with a jawbreaker and then sweeps him off the middle rope when Yuta was briefly distracted by Fish. Cole then tags in Fish after stomping Yuta out in the corner. We take a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break as Cole and Fish takes turns tagging in and out to keep a fresh man on Yuta at all times.

As we settle back in from the break, we see that Fish and Cole still have Yuta isolated on their half of the ring, as they continue to work him over while Cassidy waits for the tag. Both guys end up down and Fish tags in Cole. Cole charges at Yuta but Yuta sends him out to the floor. Fish grabs his leg to try and slow him down but Yuta hits him with an inzugiri to take him out. As he crawls for the tag, Cole, still on the floor, yanks Cassidy off the ring apron so there is no one for Yuta to tag.

Fish brings Yuta back to their corner of the ring and beats him down with kicks and knees. He tags Cole back in and the two go for a double-team spot, but Yuta ends up fighting his way free. He takes out each guy and then leaps off the second rope with a missile dropkick. Everyone is down and we watch as Cassidy and the fans rally behind Yuta, who finally leaps to make the tag.

Cassidy comes in and finally gets to do — and complete — his raised hands into the pocket gimmick. He follows that up with his hands-in-pocket wimpy kicks to the shins of Cole and Fish. He then turns up the dial a bit and hits a double hurricanrana on Fish and Cole. He follows that up with a tornado DDT on Cole. He winds his arm up and hits the ropes, he leaps through them with a tope suicida while Yuta flies off the top with a splash to the floor.

Back in the ring, Cassidy tags out and hits a cross body on Cole before hitting Fish on the floor with a tope suicida while Yuta comes off the top with a splash on Cole for a close near fall. Yuta then tags Cassidy back in and the two go for a double-team spot on Cole, but Cole fights back and takes them out. He hooks Cassidy for a suplex but Cassidy reverses into his slumdog millionaire spot. All four end up in the ring and Fish starts taking out Cassidy and Yuta with release suplexes.

After some more high spots we see Cassidy connect with his Beach Break semi-finisher. He goes for the Orange Punch but Fish avoids it and hits an exploder suplex into the corner. Yuta tags in and Fish doesn’t realize it. This allows Yuta to hit an Angle Slam type of spot for a near fall. He follows that up with a northern lights bomb for another close near fall.

We see some interference lead to Cassidy taking the arm pad off, meaning business, only to be launched into the steel steps from behind by Cole. Fish goes for a super-duper-plex from the tippy-top rope according to Taz, and ends up connecting with an avalanche falcon off the top for the pin fall on Yuta. Great opener.

Winners: Adam Cole & Bobby Fish

Tony Nese Makes TNT Title Intentions Clear, Attacks Sammy Guevara

Tony Schiavone is backstage with “The Premier Athlete” Tony Nese. He brings up his mysterious visits to Dynamite and Rampage and other AEW shows in recent weeks. Nese cuts off Schiavone and says there’s no mystery to what he’s been doing. He says he’s been scouting the top competition in AEW and then makes it clear that he’s ready to answer the open challenge for the TNT Championship.

He gets critical of Sammy Guevara, who ends up showing up and confronting him. The two talk some trash back and forth and then agree to a match. Nese ends up hitting Guevara with a cheap shot and after laying him out, says the only reason Guevara has the TNT title is because guys like Nese wasn’t around yet. We head to another commercial break after this.

FTR Calls Out The Lucha Bros Once Again

When we return from the break we see a vignette including highlights of recent action while FTR talks about The Lucha Bros and ultimately calls out the AEW World Tag-Team Champions. When we return inside the arena, Excalibur and the commentary team inform us that they will have to follow-up on that call out from FTR to The Lucha Bros.

Tony Nese Will Get TNT Title Shot Next Week

They then inform us that Sammy Guevara vs. Tony Nese for the TNT Championship will be taking place on next week’s edition of AEW Rampage on TNT.

Black Friday Deal Match
Riho vs. Britt Baker

We then shoot back down to the ringside area where we get ready for our second of three scheduled matches here this evening on the Black Friday special edition of AEW Rampage.

On that note, we hear Riho’s theme and the former AEW Women’s Champion makes her way down to the ring for what is being dubbed the “Black Friday Deal Match,” where if she wins, she finally earns the AEW Women’s Championship rematch that she never received after losing the title.

From there, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. makes her way out and the champ heads down to the ring accompanied by Jamie Hayter and Rebel. She settles inside the squared circle and her theme music dies down.

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one. Baker jumps off to an early offensive lead over the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion, nearly securing her lockjaw submission finisher straight out of the gate. Hayter and Rebel start to make their presence known as well early on, however Riho ends up hitting a big splash off the top-rope to Baker on the floor that shifts the momentum into her favor.

Back in the ring, Riho backs Baker into a corner and connects with a running elbow strike. She goes for another one but Baker puts Riho face-first into the bottom turnbuckle and repeatedly stomps on the back of her head. After that, Excalibur talks us into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues in the ring.

We return from the break and see Baker still dominating the action as the commentators remind us that Riho is one person that Baker has never scored a singles match victory over in AEW. As Taz speculates how much rent space that has in Baker’s head, we see Riho start to shift the offensive momentum back in her favor once again.

Riho picks up the speed and intensity and she delivers punishment to the AEW Women’s Champion. Baker tries to cut her run short, but Riho hits a dragon suplex that keeps her momentum strong. She goes for the cover but Baker kicks out. Riho heads to the top-rope and looks for a double stomp but Baker rolls out of the way. Riho walks into a rip-cord elbow followed by a crazy spot for a close near fall.

Baker fires up and talks some trash before going for a stomp. Riho avoids it and connects with a northern lights suplex for a close near fall of her own. Riho heads to the top and connects with a diving foot stomp for another super close near fall. Riho plays to the crowd as she sprints across the ring for a running knee, but Baker avoids it. Riho ends up rolling Baker up and catching her off guard literally seconds later for the upset pin fall victory. With the win, Riho earns herself a title shot against Baker.

Winner and now guaranteed AEW Women’s Championship match: Riho

Mark Henry’s Pre-Main Event Split-Screen Interview

We head backstage where Mark Henry is ready for our weekly pre-main event split-screen interview with the competitors involved in our headline match of the evening on Rampage this week.

With that said, we hear first from Team 2point0 and Daniel Garcia, who talk about throwing coffee in Eddie Kingston’s face and doing some of the other things they did to him because he’s predictable and they knew how he would react.

They claim Kingston is playing right into their hands and finally we hear “The Mad King” laughing as he reacts to these comments, claiming none of them are man enough to be or do the things they are claiming. They wrap this up and we head to another commercial break.

Daniel Garcia vs. Eddie Kingston

As we settle back in from the break, we see a shot of Justin Roberts in the ring. “The Dapper Yapper” handles the official pre-match introductions for our final bout of the show.

On that note, we hear Daniel Garcia’s theme song as out comes Team 2point0. Power walking past them with his trademark black towel around his neck is Daniel Garcia. He settles in the ring and his music dies down. Now the familiar sounds for Eddie Kingston’s theme plays and he marches straight to the ring looking ready for business. The fans give him a big superstar reaction coming out while the commentators sing his praises.

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with our main event. Kingston takes it to Garcia straight out of the gate and this causes Garcia to be hesitant from here on out. He takes a moment at ringside with Team 2point0 to strategize before re-entering the ring. Once back in the ring, Garcia ends up down in the corner where Kingston stomps the hell out of him over and over, refusing to stop until finally Team 2point0 yanks Garcia under the bottom rope for another breather. This time Kingston heads out after them.

Kingston beats down Jeff Parker and Matt Lee on the floor, but while this is going on, Garcia slides back into the ring where he is waiting for Kingston. He attacks him after he finishes up with Team 2point0 on the floor and this allows Garcia to pull into his first offensive lead in the bout. Garcia works over Kingston briefly, but this doesn’t last long, as Kingston starts to fight back into competitive form. Kingston is selling the attack to his knee that Garcia caused earlier while working over Garcia now. Garcia ends up going after the injured leg.

Kingston bites Garcia to keep the offensive lead. Kingston brings Garcia up for a suplex but can’t take him up and over, so he slams him down face-first instead and hobbles around the ring afterwards to further sell the damage to his knee. On this note, we head to a mid-match commercial break, our final of the show this evening, as the action continues inside the ring.

When we return from the break, we see Garcia stomping on Kingston’s grill while holding onto his hand. The camera shows Kingston looking pissed while eating the shots. Team 2point0 is also shown celebrating like cheerleaders at ringside, all-the-while taunting the crowd. The ref starts to take a closer look at the knee of Kingston, who finally pops up and connects with an exploder suplex that sends Garcia flying across the ring.

Just as it seems Kingston is going to fight back into competitive form, we see Garcia go right back to work on the injured knee of “The Mad King.” He turns and twists at the knee of Kingston as he yells in pain. Finally we see Kingston hulk up and muscle up Garcia, slamming him down viciously with a big power bomb. Team 2point0 checks on Garcia from ringside as Kingston recovers in the corner. He gets up and goes back to work on Garcia with a half-and-half. Garcia switches behind him for a waist lock and then rolls into a kneebar.

Kingston grabs the ropes to break the hold, so Garcia pulls him back to the middle of the ring. Kingston throws some up-kicks to break himself free, so Garcia moves to side mount and starts slamming down ridge-hands and palm strikes for some ground and pound. Garcia blasts Kingston with a big chop and hits the ropes, but runs right into the half-and-half back suplex from Kingston. Garcia is dumped on the back of his neck and lands in the ropes, where Team 2point0 rushes to check on him.

The fans chant “Eddie! Eddie!” as they expect the big comeback from “The Mad King” now. He and Garcia both slowly make it back to their feet and they start trading wild shots back-and-forth in a big brawl in the middle of the ring. Garcia starts mixing in slaps and palm thrusts, but Kingston lands a big kick. Garcia hits the ropes and turns Kingston inside-out with a big shot. Garcia leaps and connects with a jumping knee to the back of Kingston’s neck. The two trade shots again and then Kingston reverses and launches Garcia with a Saito suplex. He connects with a spinning back-fist for the pin fall victory.

Winner: Eddie Kingston

After The Match: Team 2point0 Attacks, Chris Jericho Makes Save

As soon as Kingston scores the pin fall victory and the bell sounds, we see Team 2point0 hit the ring and immediately begin attacking Kingston. After they put the boots to him for a while, we hear the commentators reacting to something when finally the camera shot switches to show Chris Jericho throw his headset down and after briefly hesitating, deciding to sprint down to the ring to make the save.

“Le Champion” hits the ring and takes out Parker, Lee and Garcia and saves the day for Kingston, which Taz and Excalibur point out on commentary as they wrap up this week’s broadcast. We see Kingston and Jericho standing tall as this week’s show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!
