The Ballon d’Or competition could undergo a new transformation from the next edition.
The Ballon d’Or election knows many changes every year, with the modification of the voting method or the introduction of new criteria. This was the case in 2022, when it was for example adjusted to the civil calendar. And, it may well be that we have other novelties for the 2023 edition.
The Ballon d’Or loses its boss
This hypothesis is supported by the fact that Pascal Ferré, the man who was responsible for the competition for almost two decades, will give up his post. The seasoned editor is expected to become PSG’s new communications director. His experience and knowledge of the journalistic world should bring a plus to a club where relations with the media have not always been good.
With the departure of Ferré, FF will therefore appoint a new manager for its favorite prize. A transfer of power which could therefore lead to some changes. Officials of the famous media should communicate on this subject very quickly.

As a reminder, Karim Benzema is the current holder of the Ballon d’Or. To succeed him in 2023, two favorites emerge, namely Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi. The Parisian stars have delivered a high-flying World Cup and they will be keen to continue in the same vein in the months to come. The Frenchman is aiming for his first crown, while the Argentinian is eyeing his eighth crown.
