Currently, Real Madrid’s midfield is rotation-based which was unthinkable a few years ago considering the outstanding performance of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro. However, coach Carlo Ancelotti now gives all players the opportunity to have game time.

According to the Spanish media Diario Gol, the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, is studying the profiles of players likely to strengthen the team during the summer transfer window. The club’s new target is Bruno Guimarães, a former OL player. The Brazilian had almost joined Real Madrid when he was playing in Lyon. Now performing at Newcastle, Florentino Pérez would like to re-examine his situation. No discussion has been started yet.

Guimarães not keen to join Spain?

Bruno Guimarães signed with Newcastle last winter market and has already proven his exceptional talent. This season, he has played almost everything, scoring 3 goals and making 3 assists. Considering his rather defensive position on the pitch, his stats are positive.

Real Madrid’s main issue regarding Bruno Guimarães is his recent contract extension with Newcastle until 2026, without a buyout clause. His transfer will therefore be complicated. To succeed in buying him, Real Madrid will have to get in touch with the English club and find a financial agreement. The value of Bruno Guimarães is estimated at 60 million euros.

Real Madrid are also looking at other options to strengthen their midfield, such as Jude Bellingham (Dortmund) and Florian Wirtz (Leverkusen). Bellingham, who currently plays at Borussia Dortmund, would be the priority, although his transfer could cost up to 150 million euros.

Bruno Guimarães would be aware of Real Madrid’s interest in him, but seems to prefer to stay at Newcastle: the player would feel well integrated into the club’s project and would have the confidence of the technical staff. Real Madrid could explore other options if the transfer of Bruno Guimarães is not possible.
