On Friday, the German club announced the departure of the young technician and confirmed the appointment of Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea coach having signed up until June 2025.
“The best decision for Bayern”
During the presentation to the media of their new manager this Saturday, Bayern Munich returned to the departure of the former Hoffenheim coach, whose contract ran until June 2026. His sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, revealed that the chemistry no longer worked between the 35-year-old man and the partners of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
“We have thought about it and we believe we have made the best decision for Bayern. Last season in March we had inconsistent performances and then again in September. And recently we have only won five of the last ten Bundesliga games. We saw that we were no longer in phase, that the relationship between the team and the coach was no longer there. When the performance curve drops, you have to react.”
Beaten in Leverkusen before the international break (1-2), Bayern Munich will receive Borussia Dortmund, leader with a point lead, on Saturday April 1 during the shock of the 26th day of the Bundesliga.
