WWE Talents Reportedly Preparing for Another Potential Debacle In Saudi Arabia

on

There is said to be an “unofficial edict” within WWE to try and prevent another travel debacle as the company prepares to return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday, February 27 for Super ShowDown.

As we covered last year, WWE’s trip to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel 2019 back in the fall ended in controversy as some of the Superstars were held in the country for an additional 24 hours after WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, his inner circle and some top talents flew out on their own jets. There were all sorts of rumors and speculation on what led to the debacle, but it sounds like the talents are planning to do what they can to prevent it from happening again, or at least planning to stick together and ride it out if something does happen.

Word going around WWE is that there is an “unofficial edict” saying everyone is going together, everyone is leaving together, and if there is an issue that comes up, no one is leaving early, and everyone is staying together, according to PWInsider. The unofficial pact also says that support staff, the non-wrestling talents, won’t be leaving until the wrestlers leave. This apparently stems from there being some wrestlers that were upset over staffers flying out of the Kingdom last time before the wrestlers did, leaving the wrestlers stuck together to deal with the mess.

WWE Super ShowDown 2020 will take place on Thursday, February 27 from Mohammed Abdou Arena at The Boulevard in Riyadh. The event will air live on the WWE Network at 12pm ET, and we will have live coverage as it happens. Below is the current announced card:
