WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Set for SummerSlam

A Triple Threat WWE Intercontinental Championship match that was originally scheduled for “Battleground” will now be taking place at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center instead.

Ryback, who was yanked from the “Battleground” card following a staph infection to his right knee, will defend his title against both Big Show and The Miz.
World Wrestling Entertainment reported that Ryback got the infection following a bout on the final “Monday Night Raw” before the pay-per-view, teaming with Randy Orton against Big Show and Sheamus.

“The Big Guy” has not been seen on WWE programming since then, although with the match being all but confirmed, he’ll certainly be appearing prior to “SummerSlam.”

The only match WWE has made official on their website at this time is Brock Lesnar going one-on-one with The Undertaker in the main event. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins challenged United States Champion John Cena to go title vs. title, with Cena expected to accept next week on “Raw.”
