Triple H on Cinematic-Style Matches In WWE and Who Gets Credit, Matt Hardy Responds

on

Triple H discussed cinematic-style matches in WWE during today’s media call to promote the WWE NXT “Takeover: In Your House” event.

Triple H noted that the cinematic style isn’t exactly new as they’ve done things like Halftime Heat, and WWE Hall of Famers Steve Austin and Booker T in the grocery store. He gave Jeremy Borash major praise for the cinematic matches, and said a large team worked on the Boneyard Match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. He also said it’s not accurate to say these special matches started with Taker vs. Styles. It was noted that these matches are a large team effort and a lot of really talented employees also deserve credit.

Triple H also mentioned how current AEW star Matt Hardy should be recognized for his part in the popularity of the cinematic-style bouts, a reference to his Broken Universe matches.

Matt took to Twitter and thanked Triple H for the credit.

“Appreciate this acknowledgment by The Man with 3Hs,” Matt wrote in the tweet below.

Stay tuned for more from Triple H.
