WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa is currently dealing with an injury, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The severity of Ciampa’s injury is unknown but he has reportedly been working through it with the idea that he would take care of it after his planned match with Johnny Gargano at “Takeover: New York” during WrestleMania 35 weekend.
The injury is why Ciampa was not on TV this week and why he’s not listed for weekend live events.
There’s been some speculation on Ciampa and Gargano getting a title shot from RAW Tag Team Champions The Revival, perhaps at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view on March 10, but it looks like the injury could prevent that match from happening. A big angle with Gargano and Ciampa is scheduled to air on the March 13 NXT TV episode.
