Tim Hart.

Tim Hart was born on December 25, 1949, and passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017.  Tim Hart was as “SoCal” as a rider could get. He was born in Torrance, California, and lived there his whole life. He rose to stardom racing the nights tracks of Ascot, Lions and Irwindale in the early 1970s. He was first noticed by the factory teams when he raced the Trans-AMA series on a Maico in 1972, Yamaha signed him for the 1973 season to be Pierre Karsamakers teammate. Tim was with them for three years. Hart won a 250 National at Lake Whitney and two 125 Nationals (1974 Mid-Ohio and 1975 Hangtown).

Strangely, despite finishing second in 1975 AMA 125 Championship series, Hart was let go from Yamaha and moved to Team Can-Am. Hart retired from motocross at the end of 1976 and had a successful sprint car career. Tim would have celebrated his 72nd birthday this year.
