Paris Saint-Germain came out of silence following the resounding announcement by Olympique Lyonnais of the departure of its president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Jean-Michel Aulas no longer holds the position of president of Olympique Lyonnais. Monday, the day after the incredible victory of Laurent Blanc’s players against Montpellier at Groupama Stadium (5-4, 34th day of Ligue 1), the Rhone club announced that “JMA” was leaving his post as president, a chair recovered by American businessman and majority shareholder John Textor.
The announcement – surprising when the 2022-2023 season is not yet over – sounded like a shock wave and reacted to French football, obviously not insensitive to the success of the 74-year-old leader for more than three decades, a presence at the head of Olympique Lyonnais marked in particular by the winning of seven French championship titles. Hailed by Karim Benzema and Gervais Martel, among the very many tributes, the Rhodanian in revenge was violently criticized by Hatem Ben Arfa.
“Adversity does not prevent respect”
Long remained in the shadow of the Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain also did not fail to bounce back from his departure. On his account Twitterin response to a video posted by Les Gones on the career of Jean-Michel Aulas, the capital club wrote a few words of praise for him. “Dear Jean-Michel Aulas. Adversity does not prevent respect. Bravo for these 36 intense years that have helped us all grow.”

Without him, the partners of Alexandre Lacazette – author of a quadruple yesterday against the MHSC – aims to hang a European accessit next season. With four more days to go, Olympique Lyonnais are in seventh place in the standings with 56 points, tied with Stade Rennais (6th) and three behind Lille (5th). Next Sunday, the Rhodanians will visit Clermont as part of the 35th day.
