OM suffered two setbacks at the Vélodrome against Monaco (1-1) and against Nice (1-3) in recent days. The two poor performances put an end to the media frenzy caused by his eight consecutive successes. And some consultants, including Jérôme Rothen, no longer believe in Igor Tudor’s team.

“OM’s game is showing its limits”

At the microphone of RMC Sports, Jérôme Rothen spoke about the match OM-Nice, which turned in favor of the Aiglons. The former PSG player doesn’t think the Olympians will be able to get out of the game: “Marseille will suffer against the big guys. OM’s game shows its limits, in terms of results. Marseille are consistent against average and bad teams, so they are still in the fight for the Champions League. I thought that Igor Tudor was going to adapt compared to the big teams, by being more reasonable. Against Nice, I saw some heads after half an hour, I told myself that they weren’t going to hold out at this pace. Then the opposing team manages to gain the upper hand.”he dropped on the airwaves of the radio.

OM remain 2e in the Ligue 1 standings, 8 points behind PSG and tied with Lens. Its leaders have been quite active during the transfer window and it is likely that recruits will still need a few weeks to adapt to a context known to be destabilizing. The Marseille club has notably met twice with PSG (February 8 in the Coupe de France, and February 26 in the Championship). He will also travel to Clermont (February 11) and Toulouse (February 19), in Ligue 1: meetings which should be important for the future.
