Kvitova will be representing the Czech Republic along with Marie Bouzkova, Jesika Maleckova, Jiri Lehecka, Tomas Machac and Dalibor Svrcina.

“All of you know that I love team competitions. I will be in the team with Marie Bouzkova, Jessica Maleckova, and with the boys, Jiri Lehecka, Tomas Machac and Dalibor Svrcina; (it) will be very, very funny. I can’t wait to start the season in the team competition,” Kvitova told the Australian Open website.

The Czech Republic will play its group-stage matches in Sydney.

In Group C, the Czech Republic will be clashing against the United States and Germany.

Kvitova has also had success in Sydney, having won the WTA tournament there in 2015 and 2019.

“It’s great and special when we are playing in Sydney, where I have beautiful memories from my two titles. I can’t wait to be there again in the Ken Rosewall Arena,” Kvitova said.

Throughout her career, Kvitova has had lots of success in representing the Czech Republic.

With the Czech Republic, Kvitova has six Fed Cup titles – the tournament is now known as the Billie Jean King Cup.

It remains to be seen if Kvitova and company can win the inaugural United Cup at the start of the season.
