OL are not considering letting Mohamed El Arouch leave this January. The Rhone club issued a press release to respond to rumors concerning his possible transfer.
On its official website, OL reacted to rumors concerning the interest of several clubs in Mohamed El Arouch. Several media claimed that the young player was tired of his situation within the Rhone club, Laurent Blanc not allowing him to train with the professional group.

“Olympique Lyonnais would like to deny all the information published today in certain media reporting the possible departure of its young 18-year-old player, Mohamed El Arouch. The club recalls that Mohamed El Arouch, whose behavior is irreproachable, extended his contract last May until 2025 and that he is an integral part of the Olympique Lyonnais project.posted the formation of Jean-Michel Aulas and John Textor, on its official website.
Mohamed El Arouch had indeed been associated with the names of Rennes, OM and Nice. RMC Sports also specified that John Textor had been impressed by the level of the player, during a recent match. Almost 19 years old, Mohamed El Arouch has never worn the jersey of the OL first team. This season, the midfielder has played 9 National 2 games, for 1 goal and 2 assists. It therefore remains to be seen if Laurent Blanc will agree to give him a chance by inviting him to his group in training.
As a reminder, Olympique Lyonnais is currently very far from the objectives displayed last summer. Jean-Michel Aulas’ club is 9th in the Ligue 1 standings and could experience a second consecutive season without a European Cup. This would be a big blow to the finances: given the pressure on his shoulders, it is therefore perhaps not so easy for Laurent Blanc to bet on inexperienced elements.
