Nick Kyrgios: ‘I’m a massive conspiracy theorist’

on

Nick Kyrgios has shown great vitality in 2022, finally finding some continuity and making the most of his immense talent. The player from Canberra won the Australian Open in doubles, the ATP 500 in Washington and reached the Wimbledon final, deservedly so. The Australian had a great run on the grass of Church Road, only losing in the last act against a formidable Novak Djokovic. There were huge expectations placed on Nick at the start of 2023, but bad luck knocked on his door. Kyrgios had to miss the Australian Open with a knee injury, which forced him to undergo surgery. Unless he relapses, the ‘Aussie’ tennis player should be able to participate in the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami. In the latest edition of the podcast hosted by Craig Shapiro, former ATP number 20 Dmitry Tursunov explained why Kyrgios is so beloved by the public. Unlike most of his colleagues, Nick isn’t afraid to be himself and doesn’t fear public judgment. “Today’s players are very afraid to show their personality and speak their mind, because nowadays every word can be misinterpreted or distorted. This mechanism leads players to be afraid to be themselves,” Tursunov said. “Nick Kyrgios packs all the stadiums because he is not afraid of criticism and has the courage to be himself. He has a very strong personality and doesn’t give a damn what others think. Even when he misbehaves, Nick never leaves anyone indifferent. He has the ability to emotionally involve the public, “added the former coach of Emma Raducanu. Recently, Andy Roddick spoke of Kyrgios:” The truth is that until now he has been a part-time tennis player. It’s impossible not to recognize his talent, but I would like him to focus on tennis all year. I myself can’t change the channel when he’s playing.” Nick Kyrgios has been unable to play his first official tournament of 2023 due to the knee injury he suffered prior to the Australian Open.

Nick Kyrgios is very talented

Nick Kyrgios came out as a “massive” conspiracy theorist, giving his take on the most popular conspiracy theories going around at the moment. “I’m a massive conspiracy theorist,” he said. “I don’t even know what to believe anymore. I love romantic comedies. Have you seen the Intern? With Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. You should see it. Horrors and romcoms are my thing. I’m actually in talk with the producer of ‘Saw’ right now, I’m trying to get into the movie, like I want to die on the show like the dog,” Nick Kyrgios said. “I’m a real sicko.”
