For those wondering, AEW officials did have to get approval from TNT officials to do the bloody cage match on last night’s Dynamite episode from Atlanta, which saw Cody Rhodes defeat Wardlow.
It was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW got Cody’s blood cleared with TNT ahead of time. TNT is said to be behind AEW in a big way. It was also said that the network realizes AEW are the underdogs in more ways than one, and because of that they are giving the promotion a lot of leeway because of the fight they are in.
Last night’s Steel Cage match was the first in AEW history.
