Natalya On When She Found Out Her Match In Saudi Arabia Was Happening

on

During an appearance on the Notsam Wrestling Podcast, Natalya discussed when she found out that she’d be participating in the first ever women’s match in Saudi Arabia. Here are the highlights:

On When She First Heard About The Potential To Wrestle In Saudi Arabia:

We’d been hearing rumblings since — because I went to Saudi Arabia, I went to Jeddah in May with [Alexa Bliss]. And they were saying, ‘We want to eventually have you girls wrestle.’ So we were hoping for working towards it. And then there was rumblings of it again for this trip, but nothing was confirmed…but Lexi and I also understood, hey. Just us going here to Saudi Arabia as women, just us going here as ambassadors of WWE, this is such a good step. If we get the match, we’re gonna be so grateful. If it doesn’t happen, we’re going to keep fighting for it.

On How She Found Out Her Match Was Happening:

Of course, in true Nattie fashion, I found out on Twitter, basically confirmed. So WWE was saying to us, ‘Listen, it’s looking good, it’s looking good, it’s looking good. But we can’t say 100%, we just have to wait. I think they also didn’t want to get our hopes up and then have them dashed. And I get that, so it’s better to kind of be optimistic, but cautiously optimistic. So once it was announced, I was like, ‘Oh wait,’ I saw it on Twitter and it was trending worldwide. I was like, ‘Now I know it’s confirmed.’

On If She Thought THe Match Would Fall Through:

In any situation with WWE, until you walk through that curtain no matter where you are in the world, things can change … they’ll cancel a match [anywhere], I mean things happen. It’s as we say, and we’ve said it forever…’card is subject to change.’
