Nasa Hataoka takes lead one round from end

Third round, third different leader at the 2023 US Women’s Open, the oldest of the five Majors on the LPGA Tour, held on the legendary Pebble Beach course in California. After 54 holes, the ranking is led by the Japanese Nasa Hataoka, who climbed up from fifth place thanks to birdies and the best round of the weekend.

The score of the Japanese reads -7, obtained with a score of 69, 74, 66. Six birdies hit in a third round with no bogey spot. The American Allisen Corpuz chases just one length away and scores three birdies and two bogeys to keep the square busy yesterday too.

-4 and third place shared between Bailey Tardy and Hyo Joo Kim. A ride to forget for the American, who loses the lead with a +3 of the day. The South Korean couple formed by Jiyai Shin and Hae Ran Ryu are instead paired at -2 and perhaps represent the last port of call for those who can still dream of a victory. The Italian Benedetta Moresco loses 19 positions with a +4 of the day, but she remains in the second group considering only the amateurs.

Pebble Beach is located in Monterey County on the Monterey Peninsula. It is bordered by Carmel-by-the-Sea to the south, Pacific Grove to the north, the city of Monterey to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Big Sur is approximately 40 miles south on scenic State Route 1. Santa Cruz and San Francisco are approximately 48 and 120 miles north, respectively.

Technically Pebble Beach is not a city at all, but rather a conglomerate owned by the Pebble Beach Company. Residents pay special road maintenance taxes as well as property taxes for homes to Monterey County. The community post office is called Pebble Beach, but the United States Census Bureau places the land under the jurisdiction of Del Monte Forest.

The area is also partially administered by the Del Monte Forest Foundation, a non-profit organization designated by Monterey County and the California Coastal Commission, comprising a group of 12 volunteers interested in preserving the open spaces belonging to the Del Monte Forest land. Except for two Pebble Beach Company representatives, all must be landowners and local residents.

The postal code is 93953, and the community is within area code 831.
