Jim Ross was a recent guest on “Inside the Ropes”. During the interview, he discussed that contract negotiations are ongoing between himself and AEW. He also mentioned that despite what people may think, Vince McMahon is supportive of JR pursuing this opportunity. Here are the highlights:
On AEW:
We’re trying to get all the I’s dotted, and T’s crossed, and hopefully my tenure will eventually lead me to AEW, who we’ve been negotiating with for quite some time. That’s my goal. Start to work there and be part of their presentation in May and in Vegas during May for Double or Nothing.
On How Vince Felt About It:
Vince was very supportive of me leaving and getting back in the game so to speak. If anyone can appreciate being active, it’s him. He’s still on TV at 73. We have the same wiring in that regard. No controversy, and hopefully it’ll be finalized by Wednesday.
