James Blake described Cori Gauff as “a superstar on and off the court” and he is tipping the 18-year-old American to enjoy a Hall of Fame career.

Gauff, who will be turning 19 in March, is already a Grand Slam finalist and has been ranked as high as No 4 in the world.

“Always love Coco Gauff. She is a superstar on and off the court. Can’t wait to continue watching her progress and establish herself at the top of the game for years,” Blake wrote on Twitter.

Gauff is widely regarded as one of the most talented and promising players in the game and many believe she will win multiple Grand Slams and become the world No 1 in the future.

In another Twitter post, Blake wrote: “I love her and have the highest of hopes for her. Can’t wait to sit back and enjoy her hall of fame career.”

Blake tips Gauff to do major things

After winning Auckland in her first tournament of the season, Gauff came to the Australian Open determined to win her first Grand Slam title.

Gauff’s Australian Open run was progressing well until she suffered a surprise 7-5 6-3 defeat to Jelena Ostapenko in the round-pf-16.

After exiting the Australian Open, Gauff was dejected as she admitted that she just didn’t have an answer for what Ostapenko was throwing at her.

“I mean, there was moments in the match where I was getting frustrated because I normally can problem-solve, but today I feel like I didn’t have much answers to what she was doing. There was balls I was hitting deep, and she was hitting them on the line and hitting them back deep, like, over and over again. It’s just one of those days that just didn’t go my way and went her way,” Gauff said.

Gauff now be aiming to become a Grand Slam champion at the French Open, where she finished as runner-up last year.
