The nail-biting last-ball thriller between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) broke all the previous viewership records on Jio Cinema as the live viewer count touched the all-time high 2.2 crore mark towards the end of the game. Among all, the newborn daughter of the CSK-RR match’s hero Sandeep Sharma also watched her father bowl the 20th over and reacted in a cute manner seeing the latter on Television.

CSK needed 21 runs off the last over bowled by Sandeep, and he started nervously with a couple of wides. Later the right-arm pacer was launched for two sixes by MS Dhoni. However, he regained his composure and did not concede any other boundaries in the remaining balls, securing a memorable victory for the RR. Following Sandeep’s heroism, a video went viral on social media that showed his newborn daughter watching him bowl the final over on TV and reacting cutely. The 29-year-old cricketer even himself retweeted the clip on his official Twitter handle.

Here’s the video:

After the game, Sandeep also praised CSK captain Dhoni and congratulated him for leading CSK in the IPL for the 200th time.

“Congratulations @msdhoni paji for the 200 IPL matches. An honour to share the field and bowl to him. Forever grateful. #dreamcometrue,” Sandeep tweeted.

Notably, Sandeep went unsold at the IPL 2023 auction but was later picked up by RR as a replacement for the injured Prasidh Krishna at his base price of ₹50 lahks.

Speaking about his game plan in the post-match presentation after winning the game for the Rajasthan-based team, Sandeep said: “I wanted to deliver yorkers in the last over. I was bowling good yorkers in the nets. The leg-side was big, but I missed my mark and bowled a couple of low full-tosses and both went for sixes. Then I changed my angle and it worked. I bowled over the wicket to Jadeja and I wanted to keep it away from his reach.”
