Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (April 30). Notably, both CSK and PBKS have lost their previous matches. While Chennai suffered a defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab lost to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a high-scoring affair.

Shivam Dube was the standout performer for the Chennai-based team in their last encounter, as he scored a brilliant 52 runs off 33 balls for his side. However, no other batter from CSK could cross the fifty-run mark, and they failed miserably in the run chase. Tushar Deshpande shined for CSK among bowlers, picking up two wickets in the first innings. Meanwhile, despite Atharva Taide’s storming 66 runs off 36 deliveries, PBKS also ended up losing their contest against LSG. Rahul Chahar was the most economical bowler for the Punjab-based side in the high-scoring match.

CSK currently sit at the fourth spot of the IPL 2023 points table and will look to make way in the top two by winning against Punjab. On the other hand, PBKS are on the sixth position and will eye a comeback when they meet Chennai on Sunday afternoon.
