How To Sell CS:GO Skins – Earn a Little Extra!

on

If you’re looking to sell CS:GO skins, you’re in luck. There is big money in the CS:GO skins business, and players want to be a part of it as the game’s economy continues to grow daily.

There are plenty of ways that players can sell CS:GO skins for money, and we’re going to show you a few of those methods today.

sell CS:GO skins

Method 1: Steam

The quickest and easiest way to sell CS:GO skins is through Steam, although this method has clear pros and cons.

First of all, Steam takes a big cut of every CS:GO item sold on Steam Marketplace. While the default selling fee is 5% of each transaction, Valve takes an extra 10% for every CS:GO item. So if you sell a skin for $100, you’ll only receive $85 in total. The hefty split is a convenience fee if nothing else. On Steam, any money you receive must remain in the Steam wallet, which doesn’t allow for withdrawals. You can use the money on other Steam games or CS:GO skins, but that money is locked into Steam forever.

The positive of Steam is its convenience. You can list your item and have your money within seconds. If you’re buying cases and need money quickly, a CS:GO skin fire sale through Steam is a good option.

If the skin you’re selling is among the rarest CS:GO skins, maybe avoid Steam. Selling fees are high, and the limitations of Steam wallets mean you’re restricted on how you can reinvest your money.

Method 2: Third-Party Sites

There are plenty of third-party sites that players can use to sell CS:GO skins for cash. You should do your research if you’re planning to use a third-party site. While there are lots of legitimate sites out there, there are just as many looking to scam players out of their expensive CS:GO skins.

The benefit of these sites is that they have a much wider (and more expensive) selection of skins than Steam. You won’t find too many CS:GO free skins here, with skins available costing well over $10,000 on most third-party sites. It makes sense. If you managed to unbox a skin worth thousands, it’s unlikely that you’d want to sell it on Steam – that money would then be locked in Steam forever. Some CS:GO skins are worth a life-changing sum of money, and reputable third-party sites are often the best way to get cash for those skins directly.

If you’ve got an expensive CS:GO skin that you want to sell, your best bet is to look at CS:GO esports tournament hosts, like ESL and BLAST. Those organizations often partner with CS:GO skin-selling sites, and are the closest to reputable sites that you’ll find. One example is BLAST, which partners with CS.MONEY. While we can’t ever fully recommend connecting your Steam account to a third-party site, there are definitely steps you can take to ensure that you sell CS:GO skins safely and securely.

Method 3: Paypal

You can sell CS:GO skins via Paypal, although this would be our least recommended option for most players.

While the selling fees are good on Paypal, the strong buyer protection opens it up to scams, especially rife for exploitation with digital goods. Paypal is perfect for selling skins directly to a trusted friend, however, so don’t rule this option out completely.
