Another win-and-in game for the Giants

The New York Giants hope the new year will bring the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2016, and oddsmakers are giving them a good chance of clinching a spot. The Giants are 3-point favorites against the Colts in Week 17 and are -165 moneyline favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under opened at 41 points.

Both the Giants and Colts are still reeling from excruciating losses to the Minnesota Vikings: the Colts’ loss coming on a 33-point comeback, and the Giants’ coming on a 61-yard field goal.

The Colts have been a mess as of late but have shown that they can keep games close against tough teams. They entered Monday night having lost seven of their last eight games, but that includes one-point losses to the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

The losing streak has at least shown that the Colts defense can be dominant at times. They had an interception, fumble recovery and two turnover on downs in the first half against Minnesota before collapsing. They also held the Eagles to a season-low 17 points.
The Colts have also had a rotating carousel at quarterback, with Matt Ryan being benched for Nick Foles following the Vikings loss.

Giants-Colts kicks off at 1 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
