“It was an incredible adventure”

This is the case of Jordan Veretout, who has been performing high-level performances with OM since his return from Qatar. The former Roman regrets the defeat against Albiceleste, but admits having experienced great moments in the French selection: “Exceptional. It was an incredible adventure even if it unfortunately ended badly. Over a month and a half, there are exceptional moments such as victory nights, the days after matches when the substitutes get up to speed, moments of relaxation with teammates in the evening. This is a group that has had a great adventure. We made a lot of French people happy. We would have liked it to end better, it was played on penalties: inevitably, it hurts”he explained to Parisian. The Marseille player didn’t have a bad experience of being confined to a supporting role: “You are in the France team and you are playing a World Cup in Qatar with a golden generation: you like it. To be unhappy, you have to go there (he laughs). Afterwards, we are competitors and we want to play, but that’s how it is. It was an incredible adventure even if I would have liked to lift the Cup. »

29-year-old Jordan Veretout was recruited by OM for 11 million euros last August. The native of Ancenis has since played 28 games in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and delivering 4 assists. Like those of several of his teammates, his performances are hailed at the start of the year.
