FIFA strikes hard against Juventus, Barca are warned

FIFA has confirmed a decision that is shaking the world of football. The sanctions pronounced by the Italian federation against the former leaders of Juventus will be applied internationally.

FIFA had not previously intervened in the case of the capital gains of Juventus of Turin. It is now done. “Following a request from the FIGC, it has been decided to extend the sanctions to the various football managers so that they take effect worldwide”informed the body to Sky Sports.

But the most emblematic case remains that of Fabio Paratici. The former sports director of Juventus now officiates within Tottenham. His ban on practice extends over 30 months and he will therefore have to leave the London club. FIFA’s decision also concerns access to matches and interactions with agents and players.

The intervention of FIFA is in particular a warning shot for Barça. Threatened by the repercussions of the Negreira affair, the Catalans can understand that the supreme body will not give them a gift. She could force the Spanish federation to relegate the Blaugrana club, if her guilt is proven by justice.

In the meantime, Juventus continue to fight on the legal ground. She will obtain in April the final verdict concerning her withdrawal of 15 points. On May 10, the second preliminary hearing of the trial relating to the Prisma investigation will be held in Turin. And more sporting lawsuits are yet to come, including over wage deferrals and relations between Juventus and other Serie A clubs.
