Empoli overthrows Salernitana, Sampdoria officially in Serie B

Empoli hosted Salernitana on its lawn and Paolo Zanetti’s players beat their visitors (2-1) thanks to goals from Nicolo Cambiaghi (37th) and Francesco Caputo (63rd). In the standings, Udinese climbed to 9th position, while Salernitana still lost points with a 15th place. Empoli climbs to the 14th step and Sampdoria sees its relegation to Serie B recorded with a sad 20th place in the Italian championship. This weekend, the Friuli will go to Florence to play Fiorentina, Sampdoria will play at home against Empoli. Salernitana will host Atalanta on Matchday 35 of Serie A.
