Confirmation, OM missed a big blow on the transfer window

Olympique de Marseille was about to recruit Leandro Trossard in January 2023. But Arsenal finally won the day, for 30 million euros.

Journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi confirmed this to France Télévisions: “OM have been working on this deal for several weeks. Trossard’s agent confirms

I explained the situation to him. Before the World Cup, we agreed that Leandro (Trossard) should not sign a new contract with Brighton. So they had to sell it. Marseille were interested, I also spoke to Tottenham. They wanted to wait. Spurs were in contact with us for the last two weeks, but it was: ‘We want it, but wait here, wait that…’ On Wednesday we contacted Arsenal, within 24 hours they had an agreement.

After the Ukrainian Ruslan Malinovskyi, another international could have joined the Canebière. That said, OM would already be on another file, to close the winter transfer window in the direction of arrivals.
