CM Punk and the WWE Backstage Crew on Who They Think Should Win the Royal Rumble Matches

Tonight’s WWE Backstage episode on FS1 featured Royal Rumble hype for Sunday’s big pay-per-view from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Renee Young asked analysts CM Punk, Paige and Christian about who they think should win the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match and the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match on Sunday.

Paige said she would like to see Otis win the men’s match because he’s entertaining and she wants to see him on her TV all the time. She would like to see WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane or WWE NXT UK Superstar Piper Niven win the women’s match, if she can’t be in it herself.

Christian said he would like to see WWE Champion Brock Lesnar win the men’s Rumble Match because he wants to see Lesnar back up his #1 spot, and then see what he would do at WrestleMania 36 if he won the match. Christian said he would like to see Shayna Baszler win the women’s Rumble Match because she has a similar aura as Lesnar, and a mean streak.

Punk gave praise to Keith Lee and said the NXT big man should win the men’s Rumble. Punk talked about Lee’s impressive showing at the Survivor Series pay-per-view and said WWE needs to follow up on that because it already feels like two years since the moment with Roman Reigns. Punk said Lee needs to win the match by tossing Lesnar out at the end. Regarding the women’s match, Punk said he isn’t familiar with who is in the match but he would like to see Sasha Banks win it because it would be interesting to see her go up against her friend, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
