In a press release published this Thursday on its official website, the Confederation of African Football confirmed the dates of the next African Cup of Nations 2023, scheduled for Côte d’Ivoire in January 2024. “The opening match will take place on Saturday January 13, 2024 at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan. The four-week tournament, pitting Africa’s top 24 nations against each other, will officially end on February 11, 2024., can we read in the press release of the high authority of African football. The draw for the group stage, meanwhile, is scheduled for September.
“CAF Secretary General, Véron Mosengo-Omba, has also confirmed that the official draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will take place next September. The date and place will be confirmed later. With the rapid growth in global interest in CAF competitions recorded over the past few months, CAF is forecasting global TV audiences and record stadium attendances for next year’s edition of its flagship competition – an event which also holds the prize list of the most important event in Africa”.
