Cabella criticizes the victory of a Parisian at the UNFP Trophies

This Sunday evening, the UNFP trophy ceremony rewarded the best players of the 2022-2023 season. Some choices do not seem to be unanimous.

Unsurprisingly, the best of the season trophy was awarded by Didier Deschamps to Kylian Mbappé, author of 28 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1. The Paris Saint-Germain striker was in competition with his teammate Lionel Messi , Seko Fofana, Loïs Openda and Jonathan David for this trophy. Franck Haise was elected coach of the season and Brice Samba, best goalkeeper. Two choices which do not suffer from any challenge in view of the season achieved by RC Lens.

The choice to designate Nuno Mendes best hope has, meanwhile, raised a few more questions. Indeed, the Portuguese only played 18 games as a starter and even if these performances were generally interesting, he was not really above the lot with his 2 goals and 6 assists in the league. On his social networks, Rémy Cabella has also expressed his incomprehension. The Lille player would have found it more logical for Elye Wahi to receive this award.
