Barça’s crazy idea to seduce Messi

on

In an attempt to bring Lionel Messi back to the club, FC Barcelona would consider creating a dedicated museum to raise funds for the transfer.

This is perhaps the most talked about operation of the impending summer window. With just a few months left on Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain and the capital club would be happy to let him go, a return to his boyhood club seems increasingly on the cards. While Messi has few other elite European clubs vying for his signature, the path back to Barca isn’t entirely clear given the tricky economic situation he finds himself in.

After reporting that La Liga president Javier Tebas was awaiting a ‘feasibility plan’ to bring about Messi’s return, the Spanish outlet AS revealed a means by which this funding could be achieved. There is talk of transforming the former headquarters of the famous training academy, La Masia, located next to Camp Nou, into a museum dedicated to the Argentine hero. Talks have already started with the telecommunications company Telefónica to make this project a reality.

An interactive museum

The principle idea is that the “interactive and immersive center” attracts thousands of tourists and fans, thus generating regular income which will finance the signing of the PSG star. If those numbers fall within the limits recently set by Tebas, the La Liga chief is likely to approve the transfer, given the obvious commercial income – notably in television rights – that the Argentine star brings to the league.
